A unique chance to learn writing techniques from a master story-teller and a champion of different writing genres.
A unique chance to learn writing techniques from a master story-teller and a champion of different writing genres. Lisa Chaplin began her career as ‘Melissa James’ writing Harlequin romance novels for the editing discipline upon the advice of an editor. She sold more than 1.6 million books in 25 countries, with stories about The Stolen Generation, PTSD, and families with challenges. After discovering a Napoleonic history text she embarked on a research journey through France and Switzerland that resulted in the acclaimed 2015 novel The Tide Watchers written under her own name. Lisa's most recent work is Prophet Child, the first in The Memory of Cardamom Young Adult literary fiction series. Lisa's Workshop will cover how to create characters, bring them to life and how to keep them true to themselves as well as how to create a precise and professional pitch that encapsulates your book and helps you 'sell' it to publishers. Time: 10am to 3pm. Book and pay at any Library branch. Age 16 years and over.
